Facebook today surpassed $ 1 trillion in value for the first time. The social media company is the fifth to achieve this goal by joining Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and Google.

The company’s shares rose today after two investigations into the social network were terminated by the Federal Trade Commission.

Almost all Facebook revenue comes from advertising on Facebook and Instagram. The company has also attempted to enter the hardware business with Portal or Oculus devices.

Facebook first went public in 2012 with a value of $ 104 billion. In 2018 it suffered a colossal loss after reporting poor revenue for the second quarter of that year.
